Description

Vibrant turquoise waters and deep, reddish-orange canyon walls make Havasu Canyon a breath-taking sight. Any photographer who descends into this beautiful and unique canyon is sure to come away with fantastic photographs. Access is difficult, but the trip is worth the extra effort.
There are three ways to get into to Havasu canyon: helicopter, mule, or your own two feet. Being the annoying over-achievers that we are, we decided to backpack to Havasu Campground and camp for three days. After our trip, we got a lot of questions: What was the experience like? What photographs did we come away with? What is the best time of day for photographing the falls?

In an attempt to answer some of these questions, we have created and published our first, short, interactive e-book. This e-book combines some of our best shots with some helpful information for anyone interested in visiting the area. We lightened things up a bit with our account of the trip. We’ve also included tips for shooting Havasu Canyon… so, there’s something for everyone.

I could start off like this – “Seeds of Jay Patel’s appreciation for beautiful places were planted early in his childhood….” but it would get boring really fast. I will just sum it up and say that I am a Landscape and Wilderness Photographer who loves to capture dramatic light. My photographs have been published in various magazines, calendars and advertising materials throughout the world.
