Rainbows before sunrise are very rare. On our last workshop in Glacier National Park in Montana, we got lucky. This rainbow appeared before the sun showed its face, and we were treated to several more as the morning progressed. What a perfect way to finish a workshop!
Normally, I would use a circular polarizer to help intensify the colors in the rainbow – but because I was teaching, I didn’t have time to get out my filter. I just took a few token shots using the 0.6 Soft GND filter I already had on my camera. The challenge was to get this shot without getting raindrops on my lens.
